The Undercover Stratum attains plushness that’s remarkable for any saddle, absolutely unprecedented for one weighing only 150g. Utilizing a saddle base structure that integrates active suspension functions with a cushioning system methodically sculpted to complement natural anatomical movements, the Undercover Stratum achieves extraordinary plushness and comfort in half the bulk.

HTS Carbon Rails

Finding the right balance between strength and weight is a never-ending quest. Tioga is one step closer with the HTS Carbon rail, offering remarkable strength without the extra hef. By utilizing a combination of higher tensile fiber and a weaving pattern tailored to the rail’s unique shape, Tioga’s HTS Carbon has optimized impact resistance, bolstering rail durability to nearly double the vibration cycle in bench tests*. With this enhanced durability, riders can confidently navigate the real world with greater peace of mind.

Carbonite SpyderWeb Base A flexile foundation for unparalleled shock absorption.

Unique cutouts on the base designed to compress upon impact and quickly rebound for continuous shock absorption. The spring-like structure stays active throughout the ride, soaking up bumps more efficiently than foam padding alone. The SpyderWeb base, made from proprietary material formulated for high resiliency and impact resistance, is a finely tuned suspension component designed to cushion impacts in higher frequency with minimal padding.

BIO PadMore cushion where you want it. Less padding where you need it

The Bio Pad is a padding system shaped to complement the body’s natural anatomical riding positions, resulting in some areas benefiting from extra cushioning and others with less – just as it is with the human body.

Proper cushioning is essential for the perineal region, the area between our sit bones packed with sensitive tissues, nerves, and blood vessels that cannot endure pressure. Applied pressure in this fragile zone over time can reduce blood flow, cause numbness, and the possibility of nerve damage.

Less padding underneath our sit bones is ideal. Covered by mostly fat and muscles, the sit bones are naturally capable of sustaining the full body weight when seated. Thick padding in this area ends up adding pressure to the perineal from excess padding pushing up against the sensitive areas when seated.

The areas above the rail receptacles, generally the most rigid points on the saddle, will benefit from extra cushioning. Though these are not typical seating surfaces, proper cushioning becomes indispensable should riding maneuvers shift to sitting over these points, even for brief moments.

The unique sculpting of the Bio X-Pad shape adds extra cushioning in the mid-section that better insulates the sensitive areas, thinner padding underneath the sit bones to prevent excess padding from bunching up against places it shouldn’t, and thicker over the rail receptacles to cushion potential impacts. pushing up against the sensitive areas when seated.

Two types of BIO Pad

SL

a closed cell EVA foam that’s denser, with faster rebounding characteristics. SL foam is substantially lighter in weight.

ReAcvtiv

an open cell foam that’s softer, offering more conformity. ReActiv foam weighs a little more than SL and is more economical.

Performance Shape

Shaped for extended seated comfort

The base is purposefully designed with a less central curve to minimize pressure on soft tissues, complementing the flatter base is padding shaped with varying cross-sectional radii gently matching the 3D curvature of the sit-bones. In natural seating position, the sit-bones smoothly self-align with this curvature to reduce concentrated pressure. Sit-bones remain enveloped in the sweet spot when climbing or hard pedaling by an upsweep angled tail that prevents slippage. In unison with the flexile SpyderWeb base, the Undercover Stratum is optimized for extended seated comfort.
